I love this product and have been using it for 10 years, but just bc it says "Natur" in the title, don't extrapolate a meaning of chemical FREE. It excludes ammonia and resourcinol (which is excellent) but it still has an EWG score of 8 out of 10 (10 being worst) for toxicity because, well, in order to permanently color one's hair, chemicals are required. Important to note that even ammonia based colors also come in at an 8/10, so I don't know what's up with that. Oh, and yes, it covers white hair beautifully and takes a long time to fade on me. I know this is an old question but I want current readers to see an accurate answer. **Q: I see Naturtint has to be "all used", you can't just mix as much as you want, and save the rest for touch ups...anyone done this anyway??** A: I always get four colorings from one box. (I have short hair, not very thick.) I get out my digital kitchen scale, a small glass jar, plastic spoon, and "surgical" gloves. I measure out 1/2 oz of developer in the glass jar, and then 1/2 oz of colorant, and mix with the plastic spoon. I add about 1-1/2 teaspoons of water to think it a bit (I sometimes use my hair conditioner instead of water), and then apply to my hair with the spoon and my gloved hands. I comb it through a bit with a comb. I do not apply with the squeeze bottle. Works like a charm. Just put the lids back on the developer and color bottles, replace in the box and put it away for the next coloring. Subsequent colorings are just as good as the first. Hope this helps! Natrutitnt has been eating the shipping cost and they can't anymore. It comes from Spain you see. Use vinegar to rinse it out. That sets the color better. Rinse with cold water. Like an Easter egg ya? The color will last longer and dont wash it as much. Just give you hair a good hard rinse and scrub your scalp with cooler water then use a dab of conditioner. IT STOPPED MY HAIR LOSS!! *by B***O on October 9, 2013* I don't want to make it sound TOO magical, although it was. I have been suffering from hair loss for a few years. I'm not bald yet but it had been thinning as I grow older. I kept losing about 100+ hair a day from wash and from styling. So I tried many products to fix this. I started to use Alterna Shampoo and Conditioner which helped a bit, but still losing alot every day. Before buying Naturtint I went to hair salon to get hair dye to cover my gray hair. But then I realized those contained too much chemicals (which might worsen my hair loss) so I figured why not find something natural and just do it myself at home. So I ordered Naturetint color 5N from Amazon. I used it once and left it on for 45-60 mins. Then this magic happened. Right next day when I washed, my hair loss was reduced around 80%!! I no longer had pile of hair at bath tub and on bathroom floor after blowdry. It all just happened right the next day!! So I wondered, was it just a short term thing?? So I waited and waited. The result lasted for another 2-3 months. I still lost hair after wash/dry but the qty of loss looked more natural and were around 20-30 pcs in total which was indeed a huge cut back. I was soo surprised because I wanted the dye not to worsen my hair loss, but turned out it CURED my hair loss!! One thing though, that first time, I did not use the shampoo and conditioner that came with the dye. So after 3 months, I dyed again with Naturetint same color, this time, I used the shampoo + conditioner in the box. BAD DECISION. After the dye, my hair loss came back, huge qty fell out each wash/style. I had to blame the mega-foaming shampoo that obviously had too much sulphate or other foaming agent in it. So the spell was broken. So was the 1st time a fluke? Could Naturetint really cure my hair loss??? So after another 2 months (last week), I dyed again with same color -- of course, without using the sachet shampoo + conditioner. It worked again!! My hair loss was again reduced to very small qty!! I waited for so many months to see the real results before posting my review here. Now I'm SOO going to stick to Naturetint for the rest of my life. I've already recommended to many of my friends who are also suffering from hair loss. I'm not sure if the magic would happen on everyone but it did happen on me. One huge drawback though, 5N could not properly and long-lastingly cover gray hair. My gray hair still looked golden right after dye, and the gold turned gray right after 2 weeks, even though I left the dye on for 45-60 mins. I guess if I go for darker color like 2N or 3N it would work better.
