Quality is as expected and it does its job well due to the large and wide brim. I usually get sunburned in my neck, but not this time despite the unforgiving sun in the Australian Outback.Effectiveness:The hat has a very wide brim which protected my neck from getting burned in the hot sun of the Australian Outback. I have a long neck and usually get sunburned very quickly. Even though the hat comes with the additional neck and face flaps, I did not have to use them. The brim alone was sufficient to protect my neck.It was very windy in Australia and the adjustable chin band kept the hat fixed and stable - no flying away.Quality:The hat is lightweight. This makes it perfect for travelling light, however, gives it an average quality feel. That said I did not have any problems with it and it did its job perfectly. If you intend to wear this regularly, I would recommend buying a more solid (and expensive) product. If this is for travelling and short trips, I would highly recommend this. Because this hat is 100% nylon in hot weather it just makes your head sweat. The back and front flaps are not only flimsy but also make it impossibly hot to wear.
