It could however use to be packaged in sturdier protective cardboard box, to prevent damage to the fine product.PRO: Rounded outer corner makes your DVD title still legible in the narrower format even though 1/2 thinner than original packaging. You can mostly read even the widest-fastest-deepest spine-filling print which is important-- to be able still to read what you own, displayed on the shelf. (Former catalogue librarian here.) Obviously titles in narrow fonts and centered on the spine fit perfectly legibly in the narrower case, looking quite elegant on my shelf. I have bought flimsy product before and these are of far better quality, e.g., the outer plastic sleeve holding your paper insert is smooth and thick enough not to tear like cellophane shrinkwrap.CON: There was some slight warpage on some of cases, lying not absolutely flat, not horribly so but just perceptibly (SOME not all of them), perhaps from being stored under pressure in a thin cardboard box that is not rigid enough to hold its shape in perfect square. Also due to thin packaging, a few of the 50 cases were crushed on the edges, rendering them unusable, but considering the price, not a "deal breaker". I have ordered 3 more boxes since and none damaged in subsequent shipments.Apart from the flimsy packaging, I very much like this Verbatim product, enough to have bought 4 boxes thus far, in order to convert my burgeoning movie collection while conserving shelf space. Taking a ruler and single-edge razor blade on a kitchen cutting board, I sacrifice only 1/8" off each side of the paper insert, re-insert and line up in the new case, and voila! I'm back in business. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ THESE WORK!!! *by I***M on Reviewed in the United States on June 8, 2013* Having purchased several hundred of these cases now, I have yet to be unhappy. There have been no cracked cases, no broken catches or hinges, and no misshapen cases. Plus Amazon's price has been the cheapest so far. I cut my own inserts with a paper cutter. 10 7/16" X 7 1/4". The box states Verbatim offers a template on-line but I've had no luck finding it and an e-mail to their customer service did get a response that they did not offer the template - but the boxes continue to have the statement on them. There are some inserts sold separately on this site but they are EXPENSIVE compared to just cutting copier paper, then setting up your own template thru a word processing program and printing them as needed or handwriting if appropriate. I generally cut enough for two boxes (approximately) and have them ready to use when I need them. Without a paper cutter it would be tedious and not so accurate. But paper cutters are cheap. Local craft stores that offer 40% off coupons can make a paper cutter about $12.00 now. The guillotine cutter is the fastest, more expensive and MORE DANGEROUS cutter to use - Not recommended for areas where children may have access. These are usually found in an office supply. I hope my experience continues with the Verbatim Storage Cases. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ and the cases are all in perfect condition. The center hub does not allow the ... *by $***E on Reviewed in the United States on April 11, 2015* Ordered used-like-new from Amazon Warehouse Deals, and the cases are all in perfect condition.The center hub does not allow the disc to spin freely, which is nice. There's a bit of a trick to getting the disc out without bending the disc - you basically have to push the center hub in, bending the back of the case (which is not a problem, just a little different.)While not perfect, the cases feel like they'll last. When open, the plastic feels flimsy, but closed cases feel solid. The spines aren't perfectly square to the covers when closed, but it's not noticeable on a shelf. Also, I haven't had any issues with scratches or tears on the clear outer sleeves. The "clips" that hold the case closed work well, and there's actually an additional "weak" clip on each of the short edges.The slim covers I designed fit the cases perfectly. All you have to do is halve the width of the spine from a full-size cover.
