It can be planted in the ground or in a container. It is one of the best “Italian-type” tomatoes, and is known for its outstanding growth and uniformity of fruits. It is the ideal tomato for pastas and sauces and is great for canning too. La Roma tomatoes are flavorful and juicy and have very few seeds, they are a great addition to any meal. When planting in the garden leave at least 24 inches between plants. This variety does not require staking or caging, but the extra support can still be considered helpful as the plant is bushy rather than tall. Water lightly to keep soil moist. When planting these and all other tomatoes, plant to a soil depth just beneath the first set of leaves. That first set of leaves (called cotyledon-which means the embryonic first leaves) will eventually fall off. You can expect a plentiful harvest in 70-80 days (from seeding). Includes our Clovers Garden Copyrighted Plant Care Sheet. ## Features - About this item - Two very nice, good sized plants, each 5"-7" tall - not leggy, not plugs, not seeds. Individually grown and shipped in 3.5" pots. The generous pot size offers you plants with a well developed root system, giving you a head start to fruit. Big yields of 5 to 8 oz. fruit are produced on large, vigorous plants The low seed count makes this an ideal tomato for pastas and sauces. One of the very best 'Italian-type' tomatoes known, with larger tomatoes than your average Roma plant ## Images ![Clovers Garden La Roma Red Tomato Plant – Two (2) Live Plants – Not Seeds –Each 5"-7" Tall in 3.5" Pots - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/415CUluKBOL.jpg) ![Clovers Garden La Roma Red Tomato Plant – Two (2) Live Plants – Not Seeds –Each 5"-7" Tall in 3.5" Pots - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41Wld5DqL3L.jpg) ![Clovers Garden La Roma Red Tomato Plant – Two (2) Live Plants – Not Seeds –Each 5"-7" Tall in 3.5" Pots - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/3183nyCCT5L.jpg) ![Clovers Garden La Roma Red Tomato Plant – Two (2) Live Plants – Not Seeds –Each 5"-7" Tall in 3.5" Pots - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71AFeen7AfL.jpg) ![Clovers Garden La Roma Red Tomato Plant – Two (2) Live Plants – Not Seeds –Each 5"-7" Tall in 3.5" Pots - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41cCXMeqmeL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tomato avalanche! Great plants! Good condition. *by T***A on Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2020* We had not ordered live plants before so this was our first experience. These plants arrived well packaged and undamaged. They are growing well and have multiple blooms on them already. Some of the plants even had tiny blooms on them when they arrived.Amazingly productive. We’ve had a tomato avalanche thanks to these fantastic plants. A lot of them have an egg plant shape and are flatter on the sides but that makes them easy to cut. Thanks for a great product! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very Nice Looking Healthy Plants *by R***K on Reviewed in the United States on June 16, 2020* First order accident with shipping contacted seller and very helpful and fast to solve the problem.
