You have to strike it against some thing in order to get it to go in far enough that it will actually activate the second hand. Then it starts going. But it does not keep accurate time. It loses about an hour a day. I’m going to contact the seller and see what they suggest and I will update the review, with whatever I find out. It’s cute. And I would love to really love it.
