I just slide it in and the top cover easily pulls down to encase the entire phone. I like it because it adds another layer of protection to my (expensive) iPhone. The pouch has good workmanship. The only problem for some people would be to get the phone out of the pouch quickly when you get a call. Not a problem for me, I slide it in the case and leave the top off so the phone comes out quickly if I need it to, but its still mostly protected in the pouch.
