Solid build, very rigid lockup, no slop in bushing, blade edge looks good and sharp enough to cut paper, wood handle well made and finished. I will use this in my Camelbak pack while hiking, but it would also work in a jacket pocket or possibly pants - though too big for EDC. Review: Impressive knife - Very impressive knife. Seems to be well made. It's budget steel, but still arrived shaving sharp out of the box. I would have preferred a composite grip instead of wood, but it's smooth and very well finished. Lockup is strong. The pocket clip is also usable, some are too tight or too loose, this one just works. My only 'complaint' is the locking pin on the lanyard. Not sure why it is even needed, and it didn't really fit. Was so loose fitting it would easily fall out. (I've seen TiN coating on pot-metal, so wonder sbout the blade!)** A: The blade is a 'mystery steel', from China, of course. Carry everyday. Seemed a little difficult to sharpen. Used a precision adjust sharpening system that finally got it razor sharp. Haven't really abused it much, so can't say how well it holds an edge. Will say that you need to disassemble, lok-tite all srcews, oil hinge, etc. This one has a remarkably smooth action that can be easily flipped open with thumb. Rides comfortably in back pocket for such a large knife. For such an inexpensive knife, a little work has brought this knife right up there to 'wow' level. It's definitely not pot metal. **Q: How well does this knife open one-handed?** A: You can open it with your thumb guiding the round tab on top of the blade. The tab is close enough to axis of rotation so that it stays within the range of motion of your thumb. It's not necessary a smooth motion (you may need to reconfigure your grip of the knife) but it's as good as can be expected from a non-spring-assisted knife. **Q: After months (or years?) of ownership, do you still recommend this knife?** A: I've had mine for 2 years a d have really abused it. Being a cheapo knife I've used it as a hammer, a prybar and every way I shouldn't yet it's in great shape. It is a very BIG knife and potentially difficult to operate if you're left handed. Unbelievably sharp and solidly built. The only negatives are no spring assist and not being ambidextrous. It would be nice to have spring assist on a knife with a blade that is 5+ inches. But for under $30 it's still a very good knife.
