Review: POWERFUL & EASY-TO-USE HEDGE TRIMMER / OLD MODEL #22122 - The Greenworks 22-Inch 4 Amp Dual-Action Corded Hedge Trimmer ("OLD" Model #22122) is an excellent-quality hedge trimmer with a lot of very nice features. *NOTE, however, that this trimmer is currently available in either the "OLD" Model (#22122) or the "NEW" Model (#2200102). This review is for the "OLD" Model #22122 of the Greenworks Corded Hedge Trimmer. In my opinion, this "OLD" Model is FAR BETTER than the "NEW" Model for a number of reasons. First, this "OLD" Model has a Rotating Rear Handle that the "NEW" Model does NOT have. The Rotating Handle makes this tool much easier to handle when trimming the sides of hedges and bushes. Once you have a trimmer with the Rotating Handle feature, you won't want to go back to one that doesn't. It truly makes that much of a difference! Secondly, the "NEW" Model weighs 7.5 pounds, while this "OLD" Model #22122 weighs in at just 5.7 pounds. That's almost two pounds LIGHTER than the "NEW" Model. Review: Nice Hedge Trimmer - My old Black and Decker just couldn’t do it this year. I purchased this trimmer because of its lower price, and I have been pleasantly surprised by its performance. My hedge looks the best that it has in years. It’s lightweight, and it’s easy to keep the trimmer running. This had not been the case with my previous hedge trimmer. The only thing that I could mention as a slight problem, is the opening in the handled where you are supposed to hook up the electrical cord to the hook that’s inside the handle, it’s really not wide enough to receive most electrical cords. To ge5 by this, I created a workaround where I simply wrap the electrical cord around the handle on the inside and that works fine

**Q: Where can I find a scabard to cover the blade?**
A: I have seen expired listings on Ebay for the exact cover for $15. Nothing current. But!...apparently the 22V  battery powered version comes with an aluminum blade cover. It is listed in "What's in the box":
"Hedge Trimmer, Blade Cover, (1) 2Ah Battery and Charger and Owner's Manual"

**Q: Will the 4 amp handle rose bush pruning?**
A: I'm sure it will.  I prune Rose of Sharon bushes and holly bushes.  Love it!

**Q: Does it work well on blackberries?**
A: Can't answer that one, don't have blackraspberries, but seems to be a tough little machine. Used on an ancient hedge that was brittle & tough but did the job.

**Q: does this trimmer have a lock "on" switch?**
A: Hello Trish,No, this unit does not have a lock switch. Due to certification issues a lock on the switch (for continual run) design is not an option.

My old Black and Decker just couldn’t do it this year. I purchased this trimmer because of its lower price, and I have been pleasantly surprised by its performance. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent...Make Sure You Get This Older Model

We were hesitant to believe we could buy a hedge trimmer at this price and expect it to work as well as we needed it to for our various thick landscaping needs, especially considering that it is electric. We read a couple of reviews and one in particular specified it was an excellent buy, but you needed to make sure to buy this model, the 22122, and not the newer model. This model has a 5/8 inch cut, and in other ways was lighter, more flexible, easier to use, and performed better. We utilized that review to go ahead and try this product and we are so amazed, as are our neighbors that watched us use it today. Several are going to purchase the exact same product. We couldn't be happier and are still talking about it at the table after using it all day, as we are so impressed.
