While it’s been a long battle with treatment (her fur is coming back!!) she now has sensitive skin and we are still battling hair loss here and there. She tends to scratch herself raw and while we try to keep up with clipping and filing her nails she still ends up with sores. Poor baby needed something and there’s no way she’d keep any type of socks or booties on, not to mention the dreaded cones.I found these after some research, called the vet and got the ok, as I was worried about irritation and her chewing them off and getting sick. They’re apparently safe and non toxic. I just put them on bout an hour and a half ago and they dont seem to bother her. They’re super cute :) I’ll come back with an update in a couple weeksUpdate: couple hours in, and she’s already working her way through the first paw chewing at them. Argh! They are showing wear faster, probably due to being soft, but they are so much cheaper I'm totally okay with that. They also seem to do a better job of reducing my dogs' slipping on hardwood and tile floors. I thought the pink glitter would look bright and tacky--I didn't mind, I am a sucker for sparkle--but it actually looks really nice and surprisingly "natural". As in, people often don't even notice anything is weird, they just take it in stride until I point it out and then they coo and tell me girl she's so pretty. Whereas when I had ToeGrips on her, which are dark green, everyone noticed and thought it looked weird and asked if something was wrong. My dog is an older girl so she isn't very active. I got these to help prevent her rear nails from wearing down unevenly because her back feet drag a bit when she walks. I accidently put too much glue on the first couple of nails. The glue caused the skin between her toes to become irritated and i could not remove it. I tried soaking her paws in warm soapy water and after that i tried nail polish remover but it didnt help at all.
