Review: Small but Chonky - He might be a bit small, but he's really nice. Wonderful detail, outside and inside. His mouth can open quite far too. Very chonky fellow
Review: Megalodon - Just received this shark replica yesterday and I love it, awesome detail as others have mentioned and to me it reminds me of “Bruce” the shark from “Jaws”. I have always been terrified and fascinated with sharks and I would highly recommend this shark figure! 👍

## Features

- Meet Paulwin the Dakosaurus, a 5.1-inch scientific art model of a fully marine crocodylomorph reconstructed as a powerful Mesozoic ocean predator rather than a land crocodile or dinosaur.
- The reconstruction emphasizes a short heavy skull, robust serrated teeth, a thick streamlined body, four strong paddle-like limbs, and a finned tail adapted to an active marine lifestyle.
- The movable lower jaw opens to display the tooth rows and sculpted mouth interior, while the raised head, curved body, and sweeping tail create an energetic swimming-and-striking pose for display.
- Includes a 64-page illustrated product manual, an A3 science-art poster, and QR codes linking to online videos (internet required): an introduction to Paulwin and step-by-step lessons for drawing prehistoric marine animals.
- Hand-painted on solid PVC, the 13 x 9.8 x 6.3 cm model is designed for ages 15+ and adult collectors who want a compact Dakosaurus display with scientific and artistic context.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does it work well as a back scratcher?**
A: Well, probably not very well I would assume. Though, the dinosaurs/models with protruding scales on their backs or tails might be more helpful for this ridiculous task.

Then, again, even knowing you're not serious, in a hypothetical sense I believe it would be fatuous to spend for some models, $60+, for a back scratcher, hehe.

But, by all means, go for it! Though, hammering a bunch of rusty nails through something like a suitably cut 2x4 might give you what you want as well. And you would possibly get tetanus to boot 👍🏻😁.

**Q: Can it go in the water?**
A: While you can submerge this product, the paint and detailing will eventually come off. It is painted plastic.

**Q: Can this come off the stand?**
A: The stand is very poorly matched in terms of appearance and stability. The shark simply sits atop the stand, is not attached, and can be displayed separately. However, the shark tilts onto its left pectoral fin when placed on a flat surface (because tail weight is offset to the left) and it looks very awkward in this position. I used a clear acrylic disk (half inch high) beneath the head to support the shark off of its round belly and to prevent tilting. There are many creative ways of supporting the shark but the stand that it comes with is junk. Would add that the shark itself is an awesome Meg replica and not just another Great White look-alike.

**Q: What is the scale of Basilosaurus @ 20" ?**
A: Id say it falls in between 1:35-1:40 scale. Basilosaurus size estimates ranged between 60-65ft on average.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Megalodon

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic model
*by C***E on December 17, 2024*

The sculpt of this beast is impressive--a plausible, personality-filled reconstruction of a long extinct marine reptile. Same with the thoughtful, realistic paint job. It's truly a delight to behold. Worth noting: this won't make a good toy for younger kids (maybe 12 and under). It's a fairly rigid display piece. Though exceptionally well crafted and suitable for collection and educational purposes, it is not an ideal plaything for youngsters.
