I was looking to fix a "E-machine Model W3644" computer with a blown power supply for a customer and it needed a ATX ("A"dvanced "T"echnology e"X"tended) sized replacement that didn't need such a high wattage. The 380 watts on this seemed an excellent range to purchase and install. It was well packaged when it arrived. It has a cool green color.* Keep in mind it has no power supply cord. Use your old one if possible or buy one before purchase. *It has various connectors such as:1 x 20+4 Pin ATX Connector1 x 4+4 Pin ATX 12V Connector1 x 6 Pin PCI-E Graphics Connector5 x SATA Connectors4 x Molex Connectors1 x Floppy ConnectorFor the price this is the best power supply you can buy for a system that doesn't demand too much wattage power.I would recommend this product. It has connectors for various peripherals. It is 80 PLUS certified (which means: it promotes energy efficiency. It certifies products that have more than 80% energy efficiency at 20%, 50% and 100% of rated load, and a power factor of 0.9 or greater at 100% load. That is, PSUs that waste 20% or less electric energy as heat at the specified load levels, thus reducing electricity use and bills compared to less efficient PSUs.)It also has a Active PFC up to 99%. PFC means "Power Factor Correction" which allows power distribution to operate at its maximum efficiency. There are two types of PFC, Active PFC and Passive PFC. The preferable type of PFC is Active Power Factor Correction (Active PFC) since it provides more efficient power frequency. Because Active PFC uses a circuit to correct power factor, Active PFC is able to generate a theoretical power factor of over 95%, hence this power supply can go up to 99%! Active Power Factor Correction also markedly diminishes total harmonics, automatically corrects for AC input voltage, and is capable of a full range of input voltage. Since Active PFC is the more complex method of Power Factor Correction, it is more expensive to produce an Active PFC power supply. Hence why this power supply isn't so cheap :)In conclusion this is an excellent power supply. It has a 3 Year Limited Warranty. It is very quiet! It was installed December 30, 2010 and has been running great still to this month May, 2011 (Called up customer to check on it, LOL). ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great basic PSU for workstations, NAS's and other repurposed boxes *by C***S on August 9, 2016* Perfect for a small system, such as a workstation or streaming server. Too many ppl today buy oversized PSU's, and do not understand why their "high efficiency" doesn't show a benefit. You need to match the power so that the system at least gets the PSU use rate into the 75%+ range. If lower, you may not experience better efficiency from a better efficiency rating PSU.Most power supply units have better efficiency in the idle, and about 80% usage ranges. When a higher efficiency PSU says it is 90% efficient, you can read further to find that this rating is compared to other PSU's standards of efficiency... generally only resulting in that high advertised efficiency when it is above a specific usage level. They usually show that a lower usage will result in similar efficiency to a simple 80+ or 80+ Bronze (or anything lower than the comparison).For instance, if we install an 800W 80+ Platinum efficiency PSU in a system that consumes only 350W max, the PSU isn't even stretching its legs out. This low usage means the efficiency of a 450W 80+ Bronze would be comparable (potentially better) in this use-case. If you are using more than 80% of that 800W version though... You would experience better efficiency during that above 80% usage. When below that, efficiency drops a decent amount. Read the PSU boxes and look at this on your next PSU purchase.We purchased these PSUs b/c we wanted to power simple workstations, Pf-Sense boxes, and even with NAS PC designs often constructed for clients. The low power is still more than enough to run 1 SSD, 3-4 HDDs (larger than 2TB ea) an Athlon II x4 630 and an old 6850: 2GB GPU in a Windows Server 2012 or OpenMediaVault environment w/o any issues.Please ppl... about PSU's when purchasing. We may be tempting to buy the biggest and baddest, but your system and electric bill can benefit significantly from a properly matched PSU. If you are going to underutilize a large wattage, high efficiency PSU under 70% of it's capability... Money is being wasted along with electricity. What is the point of purchasing an expensive, high efficiency PSU if it is not going to fully use its abilities.Overall, these PSUs are great for simpler, smaller builds. They are not modular, but they deliver solid power at a very reasonable price.
