I filled them with water from the sink in our hotel and then put them in the small refrigerator in the hotel so we would have cooled water for our sightseeing. A few hours later I took them out and decided to "taste test" the water. The water had a terrible taste and my husband (who never complains about anything) agreed. In good faith, I taste tested the water in the hotel room before filling our bottles and it was not at all bad tasting. Conclusion: the water I used tasted fine until I put it in the two bottles. Recommendation: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THESE.
