I've used a lot of them and they are of decent quality. not super strong, but better than the recyclable ones they sell in the stores now. no, they are not the thin ones. regular dvd width. **Q: do these have a FIRM "click" when shut? i am buying them for a film festival library & they will get repeated usage. MUST close solidly.** A: Plastic - good. Black - not so good. **Q: Does anyone have the inside dimensions? I am producing a booklet from 8.5x11" paper (letter size) and folding in half.** A: I can tell you that for the cover that slips under the clear in the outside my dimensions are 7.25" x 10.8". I wanted to get them into proper DVD cases, so they would properly fit on my DVD shelving. The reviews for most of these cases was pretty poor, but I took a chance on these Maxtek DVD cases. I have recently been purchasing a lot of my favorite movies in DVD, to have a physical collection. I have been pretty disappointed in how flimsy the OEM cases were. I was expecting these Maxtek cases to be worse. Imagine my surprise opening the amazon box and pulling out these cases. They are definitely thicker and more robust than any of the 20+ OEM DVD cases I recently received. These are also nice for replacing the dumb OEM DVD cases with the flap closure. When I pull one of these cases off my DVD shelf, it also pulls out the DVD case to the right. Dumb design.
