I was originally going to go with the otter box, since I tend to be rough with my devices, but I wanted a case that is sleek and slim to slip in my purse. When I first put my device into the case it appeared to open backwards. BUT, then I realized in order for the camera to be at the top when my kindle is landscape, the cover flap has to be where it is currently located so that when using the Flap as a stand, it (the camera) is in the correct position. The fact the cover flap is on the right should not be too big of an issue anyway since the Kindle Fire HEX self-orients. The look of the case itself is quite nice. I know it's not leather but it looks darn close. I love that the button holes are recessed. Makes the case look “one" with my device. The device itself snapped right into place when I first assembled the two. I tried wiggle it out- no luck. That is good. I ended up ordering it anyway, due to the Origami's outrageous price. I am very impressed with this case. There are some nice feeling materials used here! Soft interior and screen cover, with a faux leather covering. The holes on the reverse are absolutely spot on, line up perfectly with the speakers and buttons. Cover fits tight around the machine, absolutely no gaps. Impressive. One thing, when you fold the case into a triangle to use as a stand, make sure to fold the case so the soft side is INSIDE the triangle. You can fold it so the gray side is out, but don't. You don't want your screen cover's soft side to be resting on various surfaces collecting dust and grits!As for the "putting it to sleep with the cover flipped back" I've never had that happen. So far, though, the white isn't showing dirt or signs of wear and tear. The buttons are indented. If you have long nails it makes it hard to power on, but that isn't an issue since opening the case automatically turns it on. The back is a hard shell, but not bulky at all.
