The first dare is to not say anything negative to your spouse, and if you feel the need to, don't say anything at all. My husband and I are happily married and incredibly in love, but I see that not all couples are still like this, so this book is awesome for them. I got it because I know there are times where I can be insensitive to his feelings and needs and I write it off as me being hormonal-- but in the end, I realize that I still hurt him and it broke my heart that I could ever act in a less than loving way. Even though we aren't like the couple in the movie (have you seen the movie Fireproof? Watch it with something to wipe your tears on near by!), I still feel that everything I am learning in this book is definitely applicable. What's nice is there are 40 days in this book, which has Biblical significance. Even if you're not religious or don't read the Bible, I would still recommend this book to anyone because it does touch on the needs of the soul (even if you don't think you have one, it still touches something!).
