The heel height is perfect, it's not to low like a kitten heel but not so high that you can't walk in them. I wish I could find more cute shoes with the heel height.The shoes are narrow and do require some "breaking in" as any new leather shoe does. I normally wear a size 9 and ordered these in a 9.5 because of the pointy toe. I would definitely size up in these shoes to be more comfortable and if you have wide feet these probably aren't for you. I looked at about 10 pairs of black pumps before purchasing these and am glad I went with these. They are a great value for the price here on Amazon. I wear a regular width, size 10 shoe in all styles and these fit great. I ordered them for a wedding but would wear them to go out to a nice dinner or just to add a little jazz to an outfit. I am able to walk around on the floor and go up and down stairs without fear of falling over. I do not wear heels often, but am comfortable in these. I did buy some gel pads to put in for the balls of my feet; again, this is mostly because I do not typically we heels. My feet feel like they are in a cardboard box. The are not flexible and are made with material that does not move for conform to the shape of your feet. Even with the insoles, gel packs and other inserts the shoes are very uncomfortable. Very difficult to walk in these shoes. You have to curl your toes to make a step in them. These shoes will rub a blister on your toes no matter what size you get. You can get a size smaller, medium, or larger; I have tried all the sizes, even the wider and narrow sizes. There is a lot of pressure on the big toe and little toe. Also the center of the shoe is not center on the foot no matter what size. These shoes were made for low budget $. But if you can't walk in the shoes your money is wasted. I am being honest with this review. I see many women walking in public with shoes that are the right size but are not comfortable. Women are just settling for the lower price; then they endure the agony of "the feet", when they walk. The shoes are cute but should not be sold to be worn only put on display. Make a shoe that is comfortable and stylish.
