I ended up having to take her to the vet as it caused a lot of damage to her eye and almost blinded her. It took weeks and weeks to heal. Very dangerous cheap crap. Other people I've spoken to since the incident on forums, have mentioned similar issues with exploding bulbs and also overheating of the item causing smoke as the items are cheaply made and cannot take the heat that they're claimed to be made for.
