I wanted a nice fountain pen, for journaling. There is such a huge variety of prices, and I understand you get what you pay for, at least to a point. This pen is a little bit heavy, but the weight also makes it feel substantial, and gives weight to the words I write. I don’t know calligraphy, and probably won’t learn it, but I do like this pen. It looks nice, it feels nice and writes smoothly. I am sure some pens at three times the price, may be better, but this is a great tool. I have only used the cartridge ink thus far, so I cannot speak how the other ink holder works. It comes with stainless steel nib with smooth point which helps for smooth writing. Pen got the injector type refillable converter which is easy to refill ink to use.
