My husband and I both like dark roasts and Joe's Dark is our preferred coffee but it doesn't come in K-cups. For second choice French roast is usually a smidge too dark for me (I usually catch a "burnt" edge) while he is totally content with it. We've tried both Amazon brands and he very slightly prefers the Solimo, it's maybe a smidge darker, while I very slightly prefer the Happy Belly. They're both perfectly serviceable cups of dark roast and so we just buy whichever is cheaper when we run out. **Q: Is this the same blend as the "solimo french roast" only rebranded now as "happy belly"?** A: I actually think Happy Belly makes a stronger cup although they are VERY comparable. I switch back and forth between Solimo dark and Happy Belly dark based on price, I make both on a 10oz setting and to my mind the Happy Belly tastes slightly richer and fresher. **Q: Does Happy Belly also low in acidity? Was really hoping it would be similar taste to the off brand of the Walmart one because the 100 pods for $32 was a decent price! It wasn’t bad —it’s just not as strong as I’d like. My mom and grandma agreed however my sister didn’t seem to mind so it’s a really your own personal taste. BUT if you’re a daily coffee drinker like me it’s probably not going to be strong enough for you either. Out of us 4 only 1 of 4 recommend trying it. Personally don’t make my mistake don’t buy the 100 pack— buy a smaller pack if they offer it and try it for yourself before buying in bulk.
