It worked great. I wouldn’t rely on just the suction. **Q: Could the suction take paint off the walls?** A: It does not suction to the walls. I used the "3M" plates that was also included. Those fell off the wall taking the paper towel holder and the paint. I have a semi-gloss painted wall and it is textured. I got this for use in my RV, it gets really hot in there when AC is not running. 3M tape type mounts never hold due to the heat. I had hoped the suction mount would work better. It seemed sturdy when I put it up on my very smooth fiberglass RV walls. But when I checked the next morning, about 18 hours later, it had fallen off the wall. I wish it had stuck because it is a nice attractive, well made holder. Just didn't work for my application.
