**Q: would i use a chainsaw file to sharpen it?**
A: Hi David,
Thanks for your question, the answer is yes - you can sharpen the saw once in a while with an inexpensive, regular 5/32 or 4mm round chainsaw file.
Oiling your chainsaw is also highly recommended, use 3 in 1 multi-purpose oil when storing the saw and give it a quick spray of WD-40 before use, when possible.  
(you can find more tips & information in the instructions that came with the set)

**Q: does it cut in both directions ?**
A: Hi James,
The saw cuts through limbs both ways, the teeth are staggered facing in each direction so it moves back and forth and cuts both ways.
