    Great textbook

I am a student at the University of Arizona and I have taken a class in this subject with one of the authors, Dr Cvijetic. What can I say, he is one of the pioneers in fiber optic communications. The textbook is very thorough, it goes from basic fiber communications into graduate student analysis, its a two semester senior-graduate level course here. The book is well written and I plan to keep it as a reference. The author's thorough treatment of the subject will have you able to design and analyze optical communication systems with an understanding of the important principals involved.

There are a lot of typos in this book. A lot of typos. I am taking this course under one of the professors who wrote this book, and not even he can keep up with all the typos.Other than that, it has some good information.
