The Steiff Jimmy Teddy Bear is a 12-inch plush stuffed animal crafted from 100% polyester with a loosely stuffed body for maximum cuddliness. ## Description

Steiff is the inventor of the Teddy bear. In 1902 Richard Steiff, the founder Margarete's nephew, designed a toy bear made of mohair called Bear 55PB. Inspired by American President Theodore Roosevelt, the initially nameless bear received its name Teddy, which is still known today. Roosevelt refused to shoot a tethered bear during a hunting trip . The incident was captured by cartoonist Clifford K. Berryman and published in the Washington Post. The teddy boom began and the rest is history, your bear is your history. Before one of our Steiff animals, which often accompanies a child throughout its life, starts its journey into the world, it is lovingly crafted in many small steps. Just as every person is unique, each of our animals is a valuable, unique specimen thanks to this special manufacturing process. This is what makes them so special. Only materials of the highest quality are used in our Steiff toy factory. Starting with the sewing thread, through the filling material, buttons, eyes and accessories to the respective outer material of our Steiff animals.

Beautiful teddy bear with amazing quality! Very soft and well made. Just keep in mind that the 16-inch measurement is the full length from head to feet, not the sitting height. Still an excellent purchase!

I don’t know why I thought he’d be bigger cause he’s the same height as Leita the lamb. Regardless he’s super cute and cuddly. He’s also very soft.
