I know that if it does break I will take advantage of the guarantee, which should take care of any problems I may have. In shopping for this knife I received a crash course in metallurgy. I studied up on many of the characteristics of knife blades. I thought I wanted D2 or MagnaCut or M390 or one of the other fantastic steels available for knives. The problem I found with these outstanding metals is that I would not be able to sharpen them effectively myself. I chose Sandvik 14C28N which is a high end steel, holds an edge, and will not be too difficult for me to sharpen. If I ever do want to sharpen it back to factory specs I can just send it in to Kershaw and they will do it for me. I've learned that there's no "best" knife steel. I've also learned that there are many great steels available, one of which will be suitable for a person's individual needs. I chose Sandvik 14C28N as a great steel for me, and the Kershaw Blur with this steel does a terrific job of fitting my needs. By the way, the assisted opening works very well. The only negative I have about the knife is that it rides high in my pocket and so is easily seen.

So far this has been my favorite edc knife, I carry it everywhere and every day. It’s sharp and solid but only thing is the blade shape is a little wavy so it’s harder to sharpen
