Comes with a lancet device, so no need to buy one, you will need to buy more lancets and strips, alcohol pads. It comes with a nice little zippered pouch to store the monitor and supplies very neatly and would fit in a purse easily. Has instructions, daily log, warranty, lancet device and instructions for use, about 10 lancets. Very easy to use and to program date and time function, necessary to store data. The strips are a separate purchase and to me expensive, but each strip is foil wrapped so you can carry them with you and no need for a code. Did have a small problem getting the settings (Date, Time, Etc) in but that was my problem and Customer Service walked me through it quickly.
