Short videos on the included DVD clearly demonstrate many of the techniques presented in the book.The first chapter addresses ways to customize the installation process, and setting up audio and MIDI hardware with the Audio MIDI utility. Power Tips include: saving projects the correct way; pre-fader metering; auditioning SI channel strip settings on audio tracks; protecting key commands; EXS24 samples in the project folder; and sample location; Quick Tips include: separating MIDI drum sounds from a region and Capture As Recording;The Navigating and Editing chapter provides extensive coverage of the amazing Marquee tool. I then looked around for a good basic book to begin learning to use the product. While this book "The Power In Logic Pro" is reasonably priced and the author is obviously a power users, this book is not for the beginner. In fairness it isn't advertised as such. However, I find the writing of this book as more of a "look what I know" and a kind of Ego trip by the talented author than a a good explanation on the basics of Logic Pro. Example: I looked for a simple explanation as to how to hook up a mic and do a simple voice recording. Couldn't find it. I looked for a simple explanation for doing a master fade across all tracks to end a song. Not there. In my opinion this is more a refresher book for previous users of the Logic product or perhaps folks looking to seque from other DAW products . . . I would like to see someone as involved with Logic Pro as Ms Bustelo is, to write perhaps a book for true beginners with a few more explanations about the first steps of using Logic Pro. Meanwhile, there are a ton of YouTube Logic examples that may serve beginners much better than this book will . . . ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic *by V***E on Reviewed in the United States on May 30, 2013* I've been learning Logic Pro on and off for about three years, and was filled with ideas and the like, but haven't made much music with it.This book not only has motivated me to try Logic again, but I've actually created two full songs this month with it....some based on what I've learned over the years, but others coming from this book. I actually found the book after watching a Lynda.com online training title just available featuring the author. The videos were so good, and her reputation on point, that I was hoping that she has other resources available.Quite a few of the topics in that video course are also part of this book, albeit with more depth and insight. And in addition, there are tons of useful info here that helped increased my confidence in making music with Logic. I just started reading her other book title, "Logic Pro for Recording Engineers & Producers," right about now.Again, I can't recommend this book enough.
