If you have the temerity to snip off the jack, then re-connect it with the polarity reversed (requires a soldering iron), you will have a 3 amp power supply that will supply pretty much any number of pedals you will ever acquire. As a bonus, this item is similar to a laptop power supply. Instead of the typical wall-wart where the 9 volt cable tends to fail right where it enters the transformer, this item has a burly IEC cable, as well as an extra heavy duty 9 volt cable. While I recognize that this item was not designed to power guitar pedals, it is superb for this purpose when modified to reverse the polarity.
