The red is a candy apple red. The heal and bottoms are made well and are not slick when I walk in them. I like the strap over the top of the foot. They are sexy and very pretty. My husband really likes the look of these shoes as well as the height. I was worried that I couldn't wear them all day at work but I did well in them as the bottoms offer enough padding that the balls of my foot were fine after wearing them all day. I do suggest that if they are worn in gravel or rocky cement or asphalt, they come off. They will scratch up and ruin the classy look.
