It is similar to what you find in other mechanical pencils. Additional erasers are not cheap. Most of the time I use a separate eraser. **Q: What type of lead? 2B or H2B?** A: 2B lead. this mechanical pencil has a nice feel. it is not too light. It has become one of my favorites **Q: Does it come with lead, if so, how much lead comes with the pencil? Or is it just the pencil?** A: I added lead immediately on getting the pencil, but it came with 3 leads preloaded...1 in the barrel and 2 in the storage bin. **Q: Why does the pencil rattle?** A: Mine does not rattle when I write with it.
