First I cut the elastic lace and pulled it out of the shoe. I liked the little gold metal charm at the bottom so I made a small loop, cut it short and sewed the end. I then threaded a standard pair of black shoe laces through the sewn loop and used them in the shoes instead. With the little gold charm still at the bottom, they look exactly the same, but I can now unlace them to put them on and also adjust the laces looser in places to accomodate foot issues. Second, I added a standard Dr. Scholls innersole to add a little cushioning and absorb sweat. Now, these shoes are a favorite. They are comfortable, wonderful to walk in, and all my friends have complimented me on how hip they look. I am not wild about the "starry night" color options, I wish they came in more solid colors. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not as comfortable after wearing them for a few hours *by T***S on September 18, 2018* Not as comfortable after wearing them for a few hours. The knit doesn't hold your feet in place, so you will skip around and over the edge of the hard plastic sole. I bought them on the smaller side, so this is troubling. It's blister material if you were to walk a lot for the day. The idea is better than the reality. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best casual shoes I own *by N***A on January 19, 2016* I bought a pair similar about 8 years ago. They were a brushed microfiber. I just recently needed to retire them. I just wore them out.These have the same soles but the body of them is like a sock. They look like a tennis shoe.I love them. So cute and like wearing socks with a sole.I have these nodules on the bottom of my arch so I need support and an arch. I get all what I need.I live in the south so they are perfect.
