My front lawn is almost 75% shaded due to a large oak tree. I have tried Bermuda sod and St Augustine sod without success. After raking the ground and within 2 days, grass started coming up. It is now been about 2 weeks and it's all really filling in. I'm thinking in another week or two I should actually have a lawn. Hopefully it will last in the Texas heat this summer.
