MATERIALS: The neoprene used in it is not as thick as that used in Ace brand knee braces, but it is thicker than some store brand braces I have tried. The back of the knee has a mesh panel, which increases comfort as that is an area that braces tend to have material roll and bunch up in. Initially the mesh panel was scratchy and uncomfortable but after a single hand-wash it was much softer and more comfortable. DESIGN: The shape of the brace is basically tubular with possibly a slightly wider top. Now there is an issue with fitting for any knee brace, especially for a large person. Some braces for very large people have almost a funnel shape to accommodate when the leg above the knee is much larger. Choosing the right style for your leg, and the right size, is important. Though I measured my leg carefully and bought the indicated size, I feel it is a bit too loose. After sweating lightly the sleeve becomes slick and easily slips down off my knee when I am active. I think that if I had gone down a size or if it was made with thicker and stiffer neoprene it might have fit better.
