It is easily adjusted, and the top has ample support. The foam feels dense enough so that I don't expect to be "sitting on the wood" anytime soon. It appears to be well tufted, and the leather top is elegant looking. The bench is perhaps less heavy than you would have assumed, which is convenient.I had a less expensive model from the same company which I purchased about 9 years ago. Only in the past couple of years has the foam compressed to the point where I felt it should be replaced. This model will probably last even longer.Keep in mind that all piano benches eventually squeak.
