It does not take too much additional real estate and hence fits snugly in the hand. I have not dropped the phone, so cannot comment on how good the impact is, but pretty satisfied with the uct. I have taped a SIM pin and a magnetic bar to the inside of it, allowing me access to a pin to change my SIM as well as to stick the phone to my magnetic holder while driving.
