I kept hearing him chuckle and poked my head into his room to see that out of about 8 different options, it was Timmy Failure that ended up being a big hit! He was constantly cracking up and then had his 10 year old sister read it, who equally enjoyed it. Wanting to be part of the laughter, I too read it and found it quite funny. Author Stephan Pastis introduces great vocabulary through these books which is something my family loves! Learning new big words and then dropping them casually into conversation is like a sport to us! Buffoonish, charcuterie, and mendacity are just a few of the many great words my kids have picked up from this series. During quarantine when we can't get to the library, I thought I would pick up the complete series from desertcart so my kids could finish reading all the books and then reread them anytime they need a good laugh!
