It is a great product for the price with two significant drawbacks. First, the good points. The wire is very thin and easy to work with. Of course, this also means it is a bit fragile, but I had no problems with it. Unwinding it takes some patience, but I think storing it at the end of the season will be much easier than standard lights using a Christmas light storage reel.The first drawback has been pointed out by others. It does not remember the last mode between power cycles. I prefer the steady on that takes 8 button presses to reach. There is a workaround, however. If you use the included remote control to turn the lights off and on, without unplugging the strand, it does remember the mode.The second (bigger) drawback is that after a power cycle, the strand defaults to off. This means that you can’t put the lights on a standard timer. If you want the lights to turn on/off automatically, the remote control’s timer must be used which, I haven’t yet figured out (no instructions).[Update] I am updating the rating from three to four stars. After installing the first two strands, I ordered another strand of 100 meters to finish off our decorating. They were very easy to install and it seems like they will be easy to put away due to their flexibility.I live in the Pacific Northwest (dark in the winter) and prefer the lights to turn on in the evening and early morning. The drawbacks that I pointed out still exist, but, per the specs, each strand consumes 18 watts for a total of 54 watts. For that, I can leave them on from sundown to sunrise, turning then on manually. However, it would be better for them to 1) turn on when powered on; and 2) remember the last flashing mode. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Communication with the Seller *by L***. on Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2015* I don't normally write reviews (apologies and thanks to those who do as they make my shopping online so much stress free), but I do feel compel to write one for this item. I ordered total of 3 of these lights to decorate the outside of my house.Pros: Very inexpensive for the length of the light. Delivery was prompt and the light worked as advertised (I have attached couple of pictures). Communication with the seller was outstanding. I had a question about the controller for the lights and my issue was handled most professionally. Buying from a foreign seller is a trade off of price vs quality and communication. You buy something cheap and if it comes broken or different from your expectation, you bite the bullet and go on with life. However, with this seller, my question was dealt beyond expectation and quite outside of the norm from my usual experience.Cons: The controller and the plug appears a bit flimsy, but not out of the expectation for something so inexpensive. The wires with light bulbs are waterproof but the controller and the plug is not, so one must take care to not to expose them to moisture especially when lighting outside.Tips: The string is wound compact so one must take care unwinding them initially out of the package. My personal preference with this wire was to unwind and rewind on a spool making sure not to rush through. Tangled wire that is 300 ft long is not something I like to deal with.Overall, very satisfied with this purchase and hope that it can be used repeatedly for few years. ### ⭐⭐⭐ This is a pretty good product and works quite well but there are ... *by C***. on Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2015* This is a pretty good product and works quite well but there are a couple things to be aware of. I bought four to decorate my outdoor trees and once up they looked great. The lights are nice and bright and the cords, though quite small in diameter seem durable enough. The part I didn't like is that they are indoor/outdoor lights but the control box is not weather proof. I had to buy some weather proof outdoor junction boxes which screw shut, and were not cheap, so consider this when thinking your getting a great deal. If you go this route you basically tack on another $10. Problem 2, I have the four separate strands on a timer and every evening when they come on, they are flashing to a different pattern, I believe there are 8 separate patterns in total.
