What I can say is the item I received does have the tritium source, has the drab green painted aluminum body, and in all respects appears to be well made. On the top cover is cast into the case: "Model 3H Cammenga NSN 6605-01-196-6971 U.S." Inside there is printed date of 10 03 77, and on the underside, again cast into the compass body, is "21-26460-02E 120mCi 3H". Per cammenga.com/product-p/3h.htm , it says the date code I gave above is actually "The manufactured date can be found on the inside of the compass cover next to the sight wire. In most cases it will be displayed as a series of 3 pairs of numbers: ## ## ## This format stands for the year, month, and lot number.
