I've just put this book down and I'm already prepared and anxious to read the second. And third.This is a very well-written book that was hard to put down. The characters are fleshed out very well, so much to the point that you feel like you know them. The actions are so descriptive that you feel like you're watching a movie; almost to where you're watching a reality show. The vivid imagery cast is enough for you to even create your own movie or video treatment.What makes this book even more interesting is its method of storytelling. Everything reads like journal entries in chronological order; almost like excerpts from each character's autobiography. Everything is in the first person as if you're living these moments right there with them.I'm so enthralled with this book that I'm fighting temptation to read the second, as it's currently 10:30pm and I've got work in the morning. Lol.This is definitely worth the read. I just couldn't put the book down and I finished it in one day!! The characters are so wonderfully written and developed that I was able to visualize each one of them. I felt like I was on a roller coaster of emotions while reading this book. Don't be misled by the title; Ava, Evelyn and Charlene went through so many trials and tribulations and they could have been very bitter, but they learned so many important lessons and was able to overcome some of the challenges that they faced. I especially enjoyed reading about the setting. I'm from the Boston area, but I no longer reside there, so it was so nice to read a book that mentioned locations which brought me back to places where I frequented when I did live there. It gave me a nostalgic feeling.The end of this book also leads to the introduction of the second book. It was such a cliffhanger! I can't wait to read "Still Bitter."This book would make for a great movie!
