Smooth shifts and seamless integration with the rest of the drivetrain components — even if they aren't Shimano Ultegra. Interestingly, I have this chain on a SRAM 50/34 crankset with Ultegra Deraillerus and an Ultegra 11-28 cassette. No issues whatsoever. Everything shifts buttery smooth, once you get it all dialed in. These chains long time, though I swap mine out every few years to keep the rest of the drivetrain fresh. Only complaint? I wish this chain used a masterlink for easier install and repair, especially if you're out on the road. Instead, it has a connecting pin and you'll need a chain link tool to install. They are not expensive and super easy to use. Just YouTube the process.

These are high quality chains that with good care and lubrication will last upwards of 3,000 miles. I use Pro Gold chain lube and use a chain stretch checker (Park Brand) to check for wear. Note that this particular chain is for 10 speed Shimano Road Bike drivelines (105, Ultegra, Dura-Ace) and it does not have a master link. It has a pin that you press into the links. I prefer this style but it is much more difficult to remove and reattach chain as you will need to use a new pin every time you do it. Update: Noticed several people complaining about difficulty in cutting the pin. You don't cut the pin. If you have a decent chain tool (or a pair of pliers), you bend the excess part of the pin to snap excess part of the pin off, at the thin point. Tons of videos online show this process.

**Q: Can i use this chain on a campagnolo 10-speed drive train?  i currently use sram chains as i am not happy with the campy chains.**
A: yes.  The Shimano chains come with a chain pin rather than a masterlink.  So rather than the tiny pliers needed for that,  you need a chain tool to break the chain ( when removing ), to shorten a new chain, and to insert the pin.  Regular household pliers are used to break off the excess pin once it is installed

**Q: What is the length of this chain?**
A: I believe the chain is available in 112, 114, and 116 link lengths. Check the product specs to be sure what length. As long as you don't need something longer than 112 links it doesn't matter since you can remove unneeded links before installation,

**Q: Will this fit the Shimano M552 crankset? Thanks.**
A: Since the Shimano's Technical Documentation (http://techdocs.shimano.com/media/techdocs/content/cycle/SI/FC/SI_1LV0A/SI-1LV0A-002-ENG_v1_m56577569830755772.pdf) recommends using either the CN-HG94 or CN-HG74 with the M552 crank set, that's what I'd go with.

**Q: can i use ultegra 6600 10 speed cassettes with 6700 hubs and drivetrain?  i like some of the old ratios...**
A: BTW. Any 10spd chain will work really. Shimano and KMC shift on Shimano stuff the best though in my opinion.

I haven't installed the cassette yet, but it is labeled as the correct one for my 14 year old S-Works bike. I have used this 6700 11-28 for several replacements of the original and very expensive DuraAce (about $150 more). No reason to spend the extra unless you are racing and a weight wennie. Don't bother asking me about compatibility to your bike, I won't know (too many options). Ask: your bike shop, google, or YouTube
