I bought this for a trip in to Paris where I planned to ride the metro frequently, and visit tourist hotspots where pickpocketing is often reported. I used this bag, which I could keep zipped and in front of me comfortably. I could quickly adjust it around my body for comfort. I never had to put it down. Fabulous. **Q: Are the side pockets large enough to carry a collapsible umbrella in the pocket?**
A: I always do a little trick when an umbrella or water bottle has a loop on it. You slide the bottle or umbrella into the side pocket and then in this case you can unhook the crossbody strap Simply pull the crossbody strap through that umbrella loop and reattach. It's safe until you need that umbrella!

**Q: Is tis bag really 8" high and 10" wide?  It looks taller than it is wide.**

**Q: Does anyone else have trouble with the zipper on the main compartment? This is my second one and it catches every time I unzip it.**
A: No, have had no problems with it, neither has my sister who got the bag at the same time.  I presume no thread or anything is stuck in the zipper.

I love the security of the zippers with their little lock loops. I also really like that the card pockets protect against rfid scanning, which was perfect for keeping my navigo metro card in. This bag worked great for travel to Europe. Have also been carrying day to day. Plenty of room for lots of items, with a nice selection of pockets. Only two downsides, it is a bit heavy (although I have to carry an epi pen) and the "water bottle" pouch does not fit mist water bottles.
