A tamper is the tool you use to press the grounds into the portafilter. I like my knock box a lot…it is sturdy, easy to use, and easy to clean. This site wouldn’t accept my video. **Q: Can I use this with a 58mm portafilter? I bought another box and the opening was not wide enough for my portafilter.** A: Thanks for your interest in our knock box, which has an inner diameter of 11.9 cm. Nice quality - works great! *by P***T on December 20, 2025* If you have a Ninja Luxe Café Espresso Machine this is the knock box for you! I tried two other knock boxes that were stainless and much prettier but the portafilter was too large to fit them. So I ordered this one and it's awesome. It's the right size for the oversized portafilter and it's definitely well made. It's made in Germany and it's of good quality; although I'd love to see the same version done in a shiny stainless steel to match the machine better.
