I didn't winterize my sprinkler system in time the previous winter which resulted in some freezing and breakage of internal plastic parts. Had a major leak through the top of the anti-siphon valve in the spring. The original plastic kit had done it's job by freezing and breaking while protecting the much more expensive brass valve.When I compared the Blue Heron part to the original Febco part, the Blue valve seemed to be a little better made and more robust. It only took about a minute to replace and when I turned the water back on, the leak was stopped. A simple fix and inexpensive enough to keep an extra one around in my sprinkler parts kit. Very satisfied with this purchase.Note:Some people buy these, install them and turn on the water and are surprised that water gushes out the top of the anti-siphon valve. Seeing the leak, they're sure they got a defective valve. The initial leak is normal operation for my valve. Every time I turn the water back on in the spring, some water gushes out for a few seconds until the anti-siphon valve closes and stops the leak. If your valve leaks at first, give it a little time to seal.
