I have one for each machine. In the past it was painful to transfer programs to my machine tool over RS232 cable. This product allow my program transfers to go about 3 times faster over about a 50 foot distance. Review: Works, but may need a Null Modem cable on one side - The manual seemed straight forward enough, but it was ultimately too brief. It needs to specify what pin mappings are between the local and remote units. For my application of connecting two computers together with this kit, I needed use a Null modem cable on either side of these adapters. So the pin mapping is essentially pin # to pin #, but only for pins 2, 3, and 5 (the three wires, no hardware handshaking). It would have been helpful to have that specified clearly in the description and in the manual. A null modem swaps pins 2 and 3 so the transmit pin from one sides maps correctly to receive pin on the other, while pin 5 is the ground.
