Review: Neat little meter - This is my first meter as I was just recently diagnosed with diabetes. Even so I cannot imagine a more 'friendly' device. Certainly not for the money. It's about the size of a BIC lighter. I love the 'SmartLight' which displays a color (green, orange or red) to indicate if the reading is within standard (or user definable)) range. Basic set up is easy. I've not delved into the more advanced settings as I find I really don't need it. I just pop a strip in and go with the basic setup I really appreciate the carrying case as it contains loops for the meter, the test strip canister and a lancet device. On the other side is a zippered compartment to store wipes, lancet needles, and other small accessories. If I had a complaint it would be the the Windows app is almost undecipherable. Yes the readings are presented graphically but you have to 'decode' what date they were taken. Also while it reported 137 readings were imported all I can pull up are the dozen or so readings for the last week. Maybe it's me and I just need to play with it more
Review: Most cost effective and accurate - I love this little meter. I was given two different meters by the doctor, but with very few test strips, and they were pretty expensive. I bought this one based on the cost of refill strips as well as good reviews. It is SO much easier to use: requires a much smaller blood drop, results in far fewer errors, and if the error is insufficient blood it allows you time to add more without wasting a test strip. Most importantly, I just had new blood work done at the lab, so I tested all 3 home meters both before and after. The Contour NEXT ONE was the most accurate by far. My test before leaving home (about 45 min before the blood draw) was 4 points lower than the lab results, and re-testing at home just 15 minutes after the blood draw, the Contour NEXT ONE was only 3 points higher. Both of the other meters (OneTouch Ultra2 and OneTouch Verio) were off by 20-30 points. And those other two are both so prone to errors, you end up wasting so many of those precious test strips.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Do the test strips have to be carried separately, or can they be stored on board either the meter or the lancer?**
A: This glucometer comes with a pouch. Theres an elastic band specifically for the test strip bottle and another for the lancing device. Everything can be stored in the same small pouch.

**Q: Is this a complete kit, everything needed to test blood?  Can it be used everyday?  Some comments said it is a good back up, why not everyday?**
A: It’s not a complete set, as the strips are not included! I have used the meter for everyday use though.

**Q: Can i use gauge 33 or thinner lancets for the o'well lancing device? can i use any brand of lancets?**
A: I have tried three different brands and they worked. I assume there is a standard size

**Q: Does the meter need to be coded**
A: No..it operates at room temp.

The App set up was annoying in the beginning. I Was getting same error message all day. It worked surprisingly fine when I tried first thing in the next. Turn the meter on and turn the app on. You will hear a beep in the meter and boom, you got connected. Follow the steps and enjoy the product and Bluetooth technology. The best thing I liked about this app is that you get average of your everyday readings, so you know your approximate A1C at the end of 3 months.
