However as it is only for Halloween and dress up it does not matter and still looks very pretty on. I definitely recommend it, just watch the size. And it is better quality than many costumes. She is almost 8, average build, and around 65 lbs. The small fits her well, and is tea-length on her. The apron straps are a little too long, so I'll need to do some altering there. So, the x-small probably is around a 5 **Q: The size lists S and small as 2 options I wonder is there a difference?** A: No difference, but it does run a bit big, however it is adorable on and easy to adjust. **Q: What are the sizes Small, Medium, and large equivilant in actual sizes to?** A: the large is the right length for my average height 10 yr old but slightly too snug around the middle. She wears a 12 in most things so I would say it is a child's 10 around but a 12 for length **Q: How do you tie the apron on? The straps seem to be extra long** A: It is too long. All the children's costumes are too small (or very expensive). All the adult costumes are inappropriate. (Which I find extremely annoying, not *everyone* wants to be 'sexy'-but that's another post). This was perfect. We were going to the "Rock you Disneyside" 24 hour party and we both could wear costumes. She had grown out of all hers and I had found the perfect one for me. So, when I found this, I was very excited for her. I purchased it and got it two hours before we left (phew!!!). We tried it on there and it fit perfect. My only suggestion is that they need another velcro on it because it gapes. Luckily, a kind guest in line had a safety pin and we were good to go! More than once, kids yelled "Alice" and pointed to her at Disneyland, which made her day! (We, of course, were very clear that we were not Disney cast members). Disney Cast members all called her Alice all day long. When we met the "real" Alice at one point at Disney, I was impressed at how alike they looked and realized why people thought my daughter was Alice.
