' turn off' the kettle when not in use ..... I suspect that these lamps,may be rated for 24 hours- 'keep warm ' max time out ......The Lid is removable , like a proper kettle , so you don't have to fiddle filling from the kitchen tap , also you can get your hand in to clean the scale away... ( top tip - 1 cup white vinegar to 2 cups water - leave to soak over night to remove scale - DO NOT BOIL THE SOLUTION - rinse and fill - boil the kettle , discard the water , take care it will be hot if the kettle has just boiled - let it cool for a few minutes - this is in the instructions )Economical, it is not rated at 3Kw ( 13 Amps) like 'normal' (Swan) kettles it is only 2.2Kw (2200w) .The body is glass so you can see what's in it and only boil sufficient water for your needs.I have a photo of the scale build up after 24 hours using 'bottled' water ....soaking over night with the solution of vinegar and water , mentioned above but I cannot upload a photo here .I would recommend this kettle to anyone , but you must be prepared to 'switch it off' or un-plug (from an unswitched 13A socket) - I am disappointed that neither Swan nor Rustle Hobbs have nothing to match it. ### ⭐⭐ Think Twice before you buy *by Y***Z on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 October 2019* I purchased this on 13th Sept 19 for £35.99 and it arrived the next day. I have used it daily as expected and it stopped working on the 17th October. Therefore with just over one months use this kettle proved to be unreliable and the build quality is cheap compared to more well known brands such as Tefal, Bosch etc. When it worked it was fine, but I would not buy this kettle due to lower manufacturing standards. So for the current price of £49.99 it is way overpriced for the quality. ### ⭐ Kettle fails after 7 months normal use *by M***. on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 April 2020* Be warned; this product fails after 7 months or normal use.
