When torqued to specs, they pop the inside tailgate panel off. I cut those 2 bolts down in order to close the inside panel all the way. Review: A must get part if you have aftermarket tires - Worth the investment. I had a 2014 JK with aftermarket tires that over the years caused the tail gate to not seat properly and created a gap that caused a vibration noise. This, hopefully, will prevent that. Take aways: The heads on the bolts should be black. Do NOT open the tailgate once you remove the four hinge bolts that are through the tail gate. I did not because I had removed the door bolts on the previous Jeep from the door itself and had a hard time getting it to fit properly after I reinstalled those bolts. Took about 30 Minutes to install. I recommend you install a tire relocating system, 2 brackets, while you are doing it. Moves the tire up about 2" and out about 1.5".
