But she does not scratch at it. It is soft and does not bother her and works as a martengale should for sight hounds with neck larger than head. This would not be a durable collar for a dog who scratches as the fabric is lightweight and would snag easily on claws. Sturdiness and durability are not the qualities I was looking for in this collar. I love the fact he can’t slip it and when he pulls against the leash it don’t cause him to cough and choke as his previous collars and even harness caused him to do.
