While engineered logs are supposed to require chinking, eventually the logs twist out of shape and the gaskets used two decades ago begin fail. We had our logs sand blasted for new finish and the amount of sand inside proved this! This chinking helped re-establish the tightness of our seal so well, we had to crack a window to light our wood stove! Exactly what was looking for…better insulation! Review: Cuts the cold drafts! - I live in an older apartment and had bad drafts where the floor trim and carpet meet (weird, I know), because my apartment has a basement underneath and has likely settled, leaving this gap and airflow between the two. Anyhow, I needed something to stuff in the gap to stop the draft, and this worked perfectly! I got the 1/2 inch, 100 feet, and it was plenty. I was able to easily poke it under my floor trim, where it's supposed to meet the carpet, with ease. It filled in the gaps, and I have no more freezing drafts!
