So I went looking for a peephole to get a view of who could be at the door. Upon searching for peepholes on desertcart, there’s just so many cheap crappy options listed first! This one may cost a few more bucks and does require you to buy tools if you don’t have but it’s so nice. Installation was a breeze with an desertcart recommended 28mm forstner bit. I have a metal foam core door, so I got the metal cutting bit. Make sure you get the right bit for your door material! Once the hole was cut, you just screw the two ends together. Easy! The optics on this thing are fantastic for a peephole!! I’m not saying it’s perfect because there is plenty fringing around objects but this is a $15 lens we’re talking about here. You have to temper some expectations. For the price, you get a large clear view outside your door. It looks a bit better in person with clarity than what you see through the photos here. I did find that while you have a clear view outside day and night, even without the cover down, I can’t see back inside! You can still flip down the cover if it makes you feel better though. Overall. The cost is higher than the cheapest available peepholes here but you’ll be happy you spent the extra few bucks to get something of better quality that should last.
